Appearance:
Lily has always been short, a fate, she’s come to terms with. At least she has the curves to not make her 1,60m tall body look like a child. Her skin is somewhat tanned although she still has to be careful in the open to not get sunburnt. Her long blond hair frames a petite, round face with flush cheeks and a smattering of freckles. She has upturned nose and almond shaped eyes with green irises. He country girl look is supported by her choice of clothes that usually constitutes of flannel shirts, jeans and boots, even the strawhat if the weather calls for it.
 
Character:
Lily has always been timid. She rather kept to herself and read a book than going out and doing things. It wasn’t that she didn’t like other people other couldn’t talk to them. Instead she just enjoyed the quiet. She is very calm and levelheaded and thinks her action through before going about them. This calmness also expresses itself in how she approaches others. She likes philosophical discussion and, if offered the chance, engages in them. This way she was always able to befriend others who weren’t like her.
When it comes to people she bonded with, she can be fiercely protective and sometimes go overboard, inverting her usual level self. She might rush to save or support them and is very empathetic. 
 
Background:
Lily grew up in Texas, with her parents and her little brother, Tanner. After she turned sixteen, her dad got a lucrative opportunity to work as assistant technology officer of Parasil Industries, a pharmacy company based in Hoyleton. Leaving her friends behind, she felt like an outcast in this new town and she became even more of a shut-in, only caring for her books and for her little brother who had less and less time for her, because he acclimated far more easily.
Shortly after they moved, a cochlea bonded with Lily. Due to its unobtrusive placement – a fairly flat, purple snail on her left lower leg –, she was able to keep her powers hidden and she kept out of the conflicts in town. She had some contact with Nefertiti and after her death, decided to step up, if necessary to keep the protector’s legacy intact.
 
Powers:
Lily’s body became about ten times as dense after bonding with her cochlea, becoming essentially bullet-proof and turning her hair into blond steel wire. She also gained superhuman strength and is able to lift up to a ton of material and punch through pretty much anything.

Witness - Henry McCaulkin

Appearance:
Henry is normal looking guy, not overweight or fit, white, short, brown hair, an unassuming, square face without any distinguishing marks. It’s an image he likes to cultivate. He usually wears sweatshirts in earthen colors and dark pants. He avoids anything flashy. His cochlea is yellow and attached at his neck.

Character:
Henry has a general laissez-faire attitude and doesn’t really care what others think of him or what they do, as long as it doesn’t interfere with him. He doesn’t really know what to do with his life and just keeps living into the day expecting something to change. In the meantime he just takes the path of least resistance. Because he mainly interacts with people through his projections he has kind of lost touch with reality and doesn’t take threats or danger serious. He likes to flaunt knowledge he gained and his always trying to one-up people that have to talk to him, making him a pretty unpleasant person to be around.

Background:
Henry grew up as a single child and went through a usual childhood, followed by college and a major in IT, securing him a boring job in cubicle of some huge firm. He gained his powers two years ago and quickly figured out how to make a lot more money as a freelancer. His power allowed him to follow people around all day and learn everything about them. He was employed by organisations that needed to find out something about the opposition, as a second pair of eyes or as point man on a dangerous missions or to keep someone in check. He also got some cash as a private investigator but the lack of cameras for his astral projections made it tedious. He wasn’t really concerned about who he worked for. Currently he resides in Hoyleton where he was shadowing a stockbroker and stayed for a while to see where the chaos leads.

Powers:
Henry is capable of creating astral projections of himself and the clothes he is currently wearing that follow other people around. They are invisible to anyone except their targets and they can only talk to them. He has to see person to create a projection but seeing his target through a projection is enough. He can keep up two projections practically non-stop, as long as he is awake, up to five while focussing on the task and up to eight if you wants a headache. His ability to multitask also increases when he uses his power, making him capable of controlling each projection independently while still going about his day as usual. This has the effect of amplifying his brain processing power while he has his projections up.

Oberon - Fabio di Pasque

Appearance:
Fabio is a man of clearly Italian descent. He is short but stocky with a dark complexion and thick black hair, that doesn’t just cover his head but also legs, arms and chest. He also sports a neatly trimmed beard around his cheeks and a thin moustache. His eyes are light brown and feature prominently in his otherwise dark face. He is muscular and likes to show it which explains the tanktops he wears regardless of the weather.
When he goes out in his alternative persona he wears a cream colored suit with white shirt and tie and a ceramic mask that covers his face and is shaped like a crown on top.

Character:
Fabio is a self-important man with a flair for the theatrical. He always wants to appear grander, gain more possessions and dare bigger things. If someone denies him, what he wants he sees it as an affront, a act against all that is right and therefore has a hard time respecting others. He also has quite the temper and can be set of by any number of small things.
His relationships with others are very superficial because he always puts himself first and even people who know him for a long time, rarely like him for his person.
Despite his arrogance, he is a quick study and attentive and knows how to apply himself. He isn’t knowledgeable but he has street smarts and knows instinctively when to push and when to pull out. That ability probably kept him from being killed until now.

Background:
Fabio was the oldest son of immigrants from Italy and grew up in a suburb of New York, after they moved there when he was seven years old. He had a hard time adjusting to the new environment and when he hit puberty, he got all the wrong friends and did all the wrong things. His parents, disappointed in their oldest son, shunned him in favor of his younger siblings and he was left reeling. This led him only deeper in and what started with vandalism and minor squabbles with the authorities turned into dealing drugs and being a enforcer for criminals. After he tried to rob a juwelery store he was arrested and went to juvie. After he served his months his parents didn’t want him back and Fabio thoroughly turned to crime. He spent years in and out of jail, always ready for the next coup as soon as he was back on the other side of the bars.
Three years ago he bonded with a cochlea and gained powers. Immediately he tried to take a territory but failed and was almost killed by another symbiote. After recovering from the experience he laid low and collected funds to find another chance to get the recognition and power he deserved. He saw that chance in Hoyleton and went there to make his claim.

Powers:
Fabio is a rare symbiote with multiple powers. His first allows him to create a slowly expanding glowing mist that is hard to look at and hides everything inside. He himself isn’t impeded by the mist. Secondly he has a short-range teleportation ability. He is able to move himself up to two meters in any direction with a cooldown of five seconds. The range increases inside the mist and he is able to get to any point inside with his teleport. The third power allows him to create humanoid constructs out of the mist. They take the shape of elf-like creatures equipped with swords or bows and follow all of his commands, but are easily dispersed.

Appearance:
Geraldine is a skinny and stringy woman, looking down on people metaphorically as well as physically for she is a proud 1.89m in height. There doesn’t seem to be much flesh on her bones but what’s there consists of pure muscles. Her face includes a pointy chin, distinctive cheekbones, slim lips she often accents with a dark red lipstick, and little wrinkles around stinging eyes of a light blue-grey tone. She keeps her silver-grey hair in a strict rearwards bonded, long braid. One could call her actually quite sexy for her age (at least if skinny and severe is one’s type), she definitely does have at last a healthy and trained body that may be able of doing more sports than a lot of todays youngsters. It’s not clear if she had some small plastic operations for tightening some of the skin parts.
Most of the time Geraldine wears a stylish grey and white, tight-fitting full body suit made of an elastic material. It’s thicker and hardened at practical positions to protect the body but still assure maximal mobility. It looks thin but comes with a good protection against coldness, rain and friction.
She doesn’t bother to hide her face and identity, but if she doesn’t wear her suit for some other reasons, she mostly wears normal clothes fitting the situation like sporty clothes or a decent skirt with a pullover. She doesn’t like to wear gaudy colours.
 
Character:
Geraldine is a woman with high ambitions and the pungency to accomplish them. She’s a rational thinker, austere and straightforward in telling people her antipathy. Anything she does will serve – one way or another – in her own benefits and she clearly doesn't flinch from getting her hands dirty for it. If one happens to be one of the few persons, Geraldine starts to like for some reasons, they would know her as a dry but honest and loyal woman. She’s kinda snobbish and if she gets caught out doing a mistake, she will often react awkwardly and be trying to paper over the cracks. Also she hates fish.
 
Background:
Geraldine was the typical spoiled child of some rich upper class parents. She went to private classes, played the violin and was prohibited to talk to down class children. She realised the opportunity of money early and utilised it. After school she got employed by Parasil Industries for her parents were one of the sponsors. She worked in the promotional sector of the company but also showed lots of interest into research and supported it. After the Corona appeared and Geraldine was struck by one of the parasites, she still stayed with the company but changed her position in it and increased the donations for further research. She now serves as a mediator between the industry and the higher powered symbiotes in the area. While she had a good tie to Nefertiti, she is genuine interested in the changes after Nefertiti’s death and is willing to support promising new candidates and fighting troublemakers. She is also inofficially known to get low powered annoying Symbiotes vanish from time to time for ‘medical research reasons’.
 
Powers:
Geraldine is able to create an energy field around her. It can intensify her punches and transmit them through air in the range of the field, damage or block stuff around her with force waves and even lift small metallic objects (she often uses this to attack with small sharp shuriken like stars). The range of the energy fields depends on Geraldine’s concentration and the degree of utilisation. It averages out at 3-5 meters in radius, getting even a bit wider when focussing at only one target and shrinking with more disturbance from multiple directions. Collisions of the energy field and foreign objects create light white gleams, giving Geraldine her nickname.
Her cochlea sticks to her sternum and is a white drop-shaped leech.
Also Geraldine is very stretchy, especially for her age. But she’s not sure if it’s due to the snail or just an advantage of her longtime training in yoga and martial arts.

Harshit Fry

Appearance:
Fry never ever keeps his back straight what makes him look smaller than the 1.79m he actually is. His body is lean, pale and doesn’t seem to have much muscles in it, his long face is often devoid of a clean shave, the dull brown, round eyes are reddened and underlined with dark circles, the hazel hair greasy and and in need of a cut.. Let’s just say he looks like the perfect professional loaf around.
He will wear whatever is spontaneous found in his slum of a room. This contains mostly somewhat comfortable baggy clothing. He tries to wear those with not too many holes in them (and dirt on them), but well however.. maybe it’s in vogue soon. He loves his old grey leather jacket filled with badges and patches of bands n stuff, affixed with hours of his own love and devotion. Also he wears some rugged, scuffed gloves, because he never knows when things are going to get dirty. Big pockets or a fitting bag to stuff loot are approved.
 
Character:
If one looks at Fry, they’ll see a man who haven’t done anything with his life and also probably never will. He seems free of motivation, indifferent and he always comes with a smell of cigarettes, alcohol and pot. Of course he does have his ideas and goals in life of which he dreams every night before sleeping. But the way there’s such an annoyance! Somehow he managed to not do any first step forward and still is naïve enough to believe reaching his goals one day. At least he’s a friendly and helpful guy that won’t question things and is able to see positive sides in probably anything. Still one shouldn’t try to piss him off, he is capable of pissing back. And really inventive while doing so. He’s a tinker.
 
Background:
Family legends recount of poor unnerved mother Fry being really annoyed with her tasks as a single mother of too much children from too much fathers. And also being dang impotent of naming stuff the right way. While her first three children got away with the darling names „Chap”, „Babe” and „Muck”, it was for her fourth one to be the lil’ „Har’shit” destroying her dermal tissue even more while parasitising her body. At least he’s not called „Harlot” like his smallest sister.
However, there isn’t much to tell about Harshit’s life. He spent his whole time in the trot of an average family life, having to deal with too little income, skipping school and getting up to a bit of no good now and then. His biggest moment in life was to buy an old car and pimp it up. He loves his car even if it looks like straight out of the trash. He makes his money with small temporary jobs and playing courier. Also he still lives with his mother and four of his siblings. He tries to ignore his cochlea and live a normal life.
 
Powers:
It was somewhat two years ago as a snail fell from heaven and got stuck right to the coronal suture of a guy just hanging around, smoking. As Harshit figured out there’s a slim, long, brown cochlea sucking his brain, he immediately decided to hide it and forget it. He started wearing hoodies and beanies and didn’t tell anyone.
Of course he was intrigued to get some cool powers but still did not found anything impressive about his snail. He only got more moony and caned, starting to fell less pain, getting forgetful and finding himself more and more in awkward but not always unhelpful situations. He calls this the „luck in the shit”. He’s sure his snail knows things he doesn’t and tries to help him out by bringing him into this situations (and adding some black humour). He named his cochlea „Mr. Sneaky-Snail”.

Appearance:
Selina has a graceful, slim body with a height of around 1.67m. Her face is heart-shaped with a fine nose, pallid green cat eyes and narrow lips, surrounded by long, silky ash brown hair. The skin is as white as if it never met sunlight and her fingers are the ones of a skilled artist. Two dark lines flow from the outer edges of her eyes to her chin like tears.
Her clothing varies between reserved outfits –high sneakers, grey leggings, some skirt and a hoodie maybe – and.. excentric outfits showing much skin, sometimes she wears not even much at all. Or whatever she just found in someone else’s closet. She prefers dark, not too lurid colours and soft, cuddly fabric.
 
Character:
It’s hard to describe a person like Selina. She seems calm, relaxed and in peace with her inner self on the first look. But actually she’s bullshit crazy. One can see it in her movements and the way she speaks or even looks at stuff. It’s like her mind and her body aren’t attached fully to another, as if she still needed time to adjust, blocked out by some kind of barrier. She has no feeling of shame or social borders and shows the interest and innocence of a little girl when handling new things. But at the same time she doesn’t relate to other persons and would abandon them for little reasons. She’s not even sure of her own motivations all the time and often complains about hushed voices and an inner pain.
 
Background:
Selina doesn’t even remember much of her life before getting „kissed by her cochlea” (as she would describe it). She only talks of it as a distant feeling of hurt and a void under the skin. Also she got her name from a song she found on a CD after she walked mostly naked into a music store. That was about four or five years ago, she didn’t really count. She got by with hopping from person to person, using her body and her powers to rip them off until she gets bored or finds something better. It really depends on her mood. Some weeks ago she reached the borders of Hoyletown and heard of the powerful Nefertiti. She wanted to meet her and since then wanders through the city, oblivious of her death. She didn’t even try to get to the building Nefertiti lived in.
 
Powers:
Selina’s power are literally of an obscure kind. Her body is able to reach some strange layer undermaching our known reality and vanish in it. Her body seeps away partial or disappears fully and reappears later. She can also stash away objects and even other living things, but it doesn’t end good often. She calls the other layer a dark veil with a blistering hunger for life. The layer is an inchoate place of gloom and emptiness where even time and space seems to breaks apart. This and Selinas tie to it makes her a powerful and dangerous opponent. But she uses this advantage only little most of the time, depending on her current state of mind. Maybe she doesn’t know yet of the possible range of her powers, maybe she is not able to control them yet or she just doesn’t care.. she doesn’t even seem to know it for herself.
Selina’s cochlea is purple and attached to her spine between her shoulder blades.

Appearance:
Julien is a naturally scrawny boy not fully reaching the 1.70m, but doing a lot to be in shape and sporty. Fitting his rather slim limbs his face got a pointy chin, soft cheeks and a little nose, surrounded by a big smile and narrow eyes with almost black pupils. He wears his hair short but still long enough to have a cheeky cut with smooth bangs and a covered neck. He dyed metallic shining green strands into his dark hair. The skin is a tanned ocher.
The standard outfit contains a loose jeans or wide, black baggies, some too long T-Shirts, a grey wide hoodie and almost always a matching beanie. The footgear’s some worn out sneakers. Sporty outfits are recommended too. Since he’s still waiting for accommodating operations, he wears a binder. He got piercings in his ears and a green one in the tongue. Actually his favourite colour for everything is green, may it be a hazardous neon, a dark saturated khaki or even tending to turquoise. This, combined with grey and black.
 
Character:
Julien is a little, affirmative and sparkling bunch of energy. He’s open minded, talkative and always interested in getting to know new people and cool stuff. You need to be better acquainted with him to see the little insecurities happening. He mostly expresses them in getting even more squirrelly and maybe even offending. Due to his medication he tends to be moody, wobbling between a foolhardy, rashly (and also horny) teen and a lazy, shiftless couch potato. Generally he’s a good hearted person, trying to help and just having fun.
 
Background:
Being the youngest child of a middle class family, he had an easy childhood. His family and friends were very supportive when he came out two years ago as a transgender boy, and started to change not only his outer appearance but also body by taking medication. He still needs to get through surgery though and is not so eager to tell a lot people, for the US still isn’t the most open country with the most nice and understanding people. He’d really like to have a girlfriend (or boyfriend, he actually doesn’t really care) but was too shy to date because of his body. Getting a cochlea wasn’t helping either in anything. He only told his parents and siblings that he got one last summer. But after Nefertiti’s death he would use his powers if things would drop the wrong way.
 
Powers:
The snail manipulated Julien’s body into producing an acidic substance, that can now be found in most parts of his body, strongest in his blood, sweat and other fluids. He tries to weaken the concentration by drinking a lot water and really hopes to find a way controlling it. His tongue piercing already had to be replaced twice and spilling blood on something is a mess resulting in acidic areas and burns. He is afraid, the acid would obstruct the effect of his medication or at least the operation later. With enough concentration he’s able to pull out some of the acid as a kind of fluid secretion. The acidic fluid can burn a lot of organic material and other stuff that is known for fast chemical reacting (some plastics, lime and iron e.g.). You go best with safety materials used in labs and noble metals. It doesn’t seem to affect himself and the cochlea however.
As a side effect to his main power, Julien also got a rise in his reflexes and senses. He is now able to smell, taste and see better than before. But not too much.
His cochlea is of a bright blue, long and slim. It’s attached to his right upper arm and he did wrap it around the arm like a little piece of jewelry. The snail actually stays this way and is not visible under loose clothing.
